Octopus in red wine sauce

Today’s recipe is for those who love Sea Food and wine both. If you love any one of them make sure you try this recipe at least once because it is really good.

  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cook time: 1 hour and 20 minutes

Octopus in red wine sauce

Ingredients

  • 2lbs of Octopus
  • 1 bottle of 750ml red wine
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon celery salt
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh ground pepper

 

Directions

  1. In a medium-size pot which holds about 4 liters place the red wine and turn on the heat to medium-high.
  2. Let it boil for 5 minutes then take the Octopus and dunk it three times into the wine and on the third time leave it in there for 1 hour
  3. I was told you want to shock the octopus that’s why you do the dunking part.
  4. After one hour turn on your BBQ grill and turn the heat up high while this is getting hot,
  5. Take out the octopus and let it sit for five minutes,
  6. Then cut it up to bite size pieces and place it into a steel grill pan.
  7. Then cut a lemon in half and place the steel grill pan with the octopus on the grill and squeeze that half a lemon all over it and let it cook for 15 minutes, mixing it every 3 – 4 minutes.
  8. Then remove from the grill and place the octopus on a plate and sprinkle that salt, garlic, and pepper over it and the other half of the lemon over it and serve your Octopus with red wine sauce with some bread and a glass of Chianti and enjoy.

Irish Soda Bread

Today, I am going to share with you a personal favorite recipe. It is called Irish Soda Bread and even my kids force me to make this at least once in a week.

  • Prep time: 15 minutes
  • Cook time: 60 minutes

Irish Soda Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups of bread flour
  • 2/3 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups of raisins
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon of butter

 

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven to 375 degrees, and with a 1/2 of a tablespoon of butter grease an 8 1/2″ loaf pan.
  2. Then in a medium size bowl mix your flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and baking powder and as you are mixing this put raisin in gently coating them in the dry mix.
  3. Then in a separate bowl combine your eggs, milk, and butter and mix, and then add to the dry ingredients and mix with a spoon by hand till moist, it will be thick and sticky.
  4. Then place the mixture in the greased pan and try to evenly flatten batter as best as you can, it will rise in the middle as it bakes for 1 hour.
  5. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes before slicing, and serve the Irish Soda Bread with some butter on top and enjoy this great traditional recipe that was given to me by Patti G.

Party Time Ice Tea

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of Fire Fly Sweet Tea Vodka
  • 4 ounces of unsweetened ice tea
  • 3 mint leaves

Directions

  1. In a drink, shaker take two of the mint leaves and tear them up and place into the shaker,
  2. Then take two ice cubes and place into a shaker with the Vodka and unsweetened tea,
  3. Then place the top on and shaker.
  4. Then take a glass and place ice inside it, and pour the mix into it.
  5. Garnish with the other piece of mint
